THE MAGICKAL FAE

📍 Warwick, RI | ✨ Handcrafted Intention Candles, Crystals, Spiritual Tools & Community Healing

Some businesses are built on strategy. Others are built on something more—intuition, intention, and an unshakable belief in the magic of creation. The Magickal Fae is one of those places.

Reena, the owner and energy behind this sacred space, never planned to open a shop. But when she followed the pull of her own creativity—starting with just one candle—everything changed.

🔮 "I made one candle—one candle—and I was like, I’m making a business."

From a simple act of creation to a thriving metaphysical store, The Magickal Fae is more than just a shop—it’s a sanctuary.

The Magic of Intuition: A Conversation with Reena of The Magickal Fae

Justine Kenahan: Can you introduce yourself and your shop?

Correena “Reena” Tachjian: My name is Correena Tachjian, but everyone calls me Reena. My shop is The Magickal Fae.

Justine: You’ve been on quite a journey. Can you share what led you here?

Reena: I took care of both my parents while raising my daughter. After everything I had been through—including almost not surviving childbirth—I realized I needed to change my life. In 2020, during the pandemic, I knew it was time.

I had always been drawn to witchcraft and energy work, but I had pushed it away when I was younger. Around 2017, I felt called to return to it. I found a local metaphysical space, Ascension NXT, and immersed myself in learning. I became a High Priestess, a Reiki Master, and started working with galactic beings.

Then, one day, a friend and I decided to make candles.

💜 "I was scared. I didn’t want to mess up. But my friend told me, ‘You’re creative, you just need to believe in yourself.’ So I did."

The Journey to The Magickal Fae

The Power of Intuitive Creation

Justine: So candle-making was the start of it all?

Reena: Yes! The first time I made a candle, I felt something click. I realized I could infuse them with herbs, crystals, spells, and intention. That same night, I sat down and mapped out my first five candles.

🕯️ "My candles aren’t just candles. I go through a ritual every time I make them. When you burn one, you’re lighting an intention, not just a wick."

I started small—just a desk in my bedroom. Then I moved to my living room. Eventually, I began vending at local events. People started asking for entire displays, and I realized—I needed a space of my own.

Creating a Sanctuary: The Birth of The Magickal Fae

Justine: How did you find your storefront?

Reena: It wasn’t easy. I had a tiny space above a Pilates studio for a while, but then the landlord’s mother threw my stuff out—literally—because she thought I was "the devil."

For months, all my inventory was in bins. I was at a red light one day, feeling completely lost, when I saw a For Lease sign.

🌿 "It felt like a sign—literally and spiritually."

I called. The next day, they handed me the keys. First thing I did? Painted everything purple. It had to feel right.

A Shop with Intention & Energy

Justine: How do you choose the products in your shop?

Reena: Everything has to align with The Magical Fae. I make my own candles and decor, and I’m very intentional about vendors. I work with a crystal supplier from Wisconsin who personally delivers stock and allows me to swap items if needed.

💎 "I don’t just take any products in my shop—it has to align with me and The Magickal Fae."

The Magic of Community & Energy Exchange

Justine: How has The Magickal Fae become part of the spiritual community in Rhode Island?

Reena: I wanted this space to feel welcoming, where people can come in, reset their energy, and feel safe.

🌙 "You don’t need to come in and buy anything—just come in, exchange energy, reset yourself."

I also work with other small businesses to host events—sound healings, breathwork, and Reiki circles.

Legacy, Lessons, and Looking Ahead

Justine: Do you see your daughter continuing your legacy?

Reena: I don’t know! She’s more technical—maybe she’ll run the shop’s website! But she grew up around this, and she loves it. Whether she follows this path or not, she’ll always know her mom built something magical.

Justine: What advice would you give to someone just starting their spiritual journey?

Reena: Trust yourself. Keep learning. Take your time. Don’t get overwhelmed by trying to know everything at once.

✨ "Take the leap of faith. You don’t want to live with that ‘What if?’"
